Annual Parish Meeting
Location: Edingale Village Hall
Date: Wednesday 2nd May 2018 Time: 7.30 pm
Minutes
Present: Cllr Wesley (Chair), Cllrs Cliffe, Lacey, Mason, Startin and Van Arkadie.
Mrs M. Jones (Clerk) and 7 members of the public.
The Chair welcomed everyone to the meeting.
1. To approve the Minutes of the Annual Parish Meeting of 8th May 2017. Approved

2. To receive reports from village organisations.
The Chair of the Village Hall Committee reported that 2017 had been a strong year. She thanked the Parish Council for paying for the rewiring and insulation of the ceiling. Eleven fund raising events had been held and there was currently £8,000 in the bank. There would be less pub nights this year now that the Black Horse had reopened. Part of the car park had been surfaced and work to drain it was now required; grant support for solar panels was being sought. Councillors congratulated all who had been involved in the improvements to the hall and thanked them for their hard work and enthusiasm.

The Annual Report on Holy Trinity Church was given. They had been busy drawing up plans for a toilet, and this would be assessed by a visit of the diocese committee soon. The hedge had been considerably cut back so that the churchyard was now enlarged. Repair work or replacement for the church clock would be required soon.

3. To receive questions and comments from residents.
Members of the public thanked the Parish Council for quickly arranging a temporary taxi and then bus service after the closure of the 82 service. There was still no news about future plans from the County Council.
Best Kept Village Judges had not yet visited the village, but preparations had been ongoing during the last few weeks, with many members of the community supporting the competition this year. They were thanked for all their help. The new contractors had missed the area at Woodyard Drive but would be asked to do this as soon as possible.
Those present were informed that Les Watkins, who had previously done this work, was currently in hospital, and all wished him the best.
