Citizens Advice
Citizen’s Advice have asked local parish councils if they would be interested in hosting advice sessions in their areas so that residents who need assistance can attend a session locally.
If you think this is something that would be useful in Edingale please let us know via clerk@edingale-pc.gov.uk
Here is some more information on what they offer:
Citizens Advice have seen demand for our services surge over the last couple of years and we expect this trend to continue over the coming months, driven by issues such as the cost-of-living crisis and fuel poverty, along with topical issues like Pension Credit entitlement and Winter Fuel Allowances.
The pressure on our main Adviceline service is high and we know that residents find it difficult to get through to our advisers. Having a dedicated outreach service in local community venues gives residents a direct route into our advice and support services with the flexibility to meet an adviser face to face in a convenient location.
Our generalist advisers are able to support clients with a range of issues such as, benefit calculations and support with claiming benefits, debt advice, housing and homelessness, employment, family and relationship, energy advice, and law and courts.
A one-hour appointment is generally provided, although follow up appointments can be arranged if other issues need addressing. This allows our advisers to meet with up to three clients per day, with the remaining time to write up cases and carry out any follow up actions on behalf of the client.
Clients may also be referred into specialist services within our organisation when needed, such as debt casework.
