Residents, community groups, businesses and organisations are being invited to come together and celebrate the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe Day.
VE Day marks 80 years since the unconditional surrender of Nazi Germany, a moment of relief and celebration across Britain and Allied nations.
A series of events will mark the day across Staffordshire including a special weekend of celebrations at the National Memorial Arboretum, taking inspiration from the iconic street parties of 1945.

Lichfield’s on-demand ‘LinkUp’ transport service trial expands to help more commuters, with an extension to the operating hours for LinkUp, its community transport service. Edingale and Harlaston Parish Councils have been working together to improve an avenue of diseased Ash Trees that line the Harlaston Road between the two villages.

A training session was held on 20th February at the Village Hall, run by Have a Heart Tamworth, on CPR and familiarisation in using an AED (defibrillator).
The trainers explained about common heart conditions and the appropriate action if heart problems occur, followed by a detailed demonstration and instruction on how to do CPR and use an AED. Those attending then had a go for themselves.
